THE ARTIST
Carmelita Acid-hooks
Carmelita received 2 partial scholarships to Washington University for the summer in 1984, which sparked her creative passion for the visual arts.
Acid has raised money for several charitable organizations through auction and performance; Dionte Coates Foundation for sickle cell disease, Women’s lawyers association in Clayton MO, American Red Cross in St. Louis MO, American Cancer Society in Mexico, MO, Alternatives to Living in a Violent Environment (ALIVE project),etc.
Her work has been seen in : St. Louis, MO, Chicago, ILL, California (Riverside, Pasadena, Lynnwood, Venture, Ontario, Fontana, San Bernardino ,etc.), Florida, Ohio, Mexico, MO, Tennessee, North Carolina, Bahamas, and Venice, Italy(One of 2 American artist to show)1998 nationwide artist calls.
